Dopplegangers

I am a big fan of finding dopplegangers for people. Whether it is finding a stranger on the street that highly resembles a best friend of mine or locating their ever popular celebrity match, I am always on the lookout for a good doppleganger.

Through my years of face comparison, i have noticed there are two people I always seem to compare those I meet to most. So here are, in my opinion, the two most dopplegangerable people in the world!

1. Charlie Bucket.

Not Freddy Highmore, but the original, emotional eating, bubble sneaking, golden ticket finding Charlie Bucket. Charlie is an average kid. Kinda grungy, i mean all four of his grandparents do sleep in the same bed (is that not weird to anyone else?), so we wouldn't expect him to be as dapper as Augustus Gloop . I think Charlie has that everyday hero quality. That typical American (although I'm sure there are some comparable Swedes and Brits) boy look. I guess that is why he is so comparable.

2. Slugworth.

I don't know what it is but for some reason my top two most dopplegangerish people are in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I didn't even own this movie for the majority of my life. I guess we can just thank ABC family for playing it so often, on the weeks they aren't playing Mrs. Doubtfire.

Anyway, Maybe it is Slugworth's glasses. Or the intensity of his face. Either way, Slugworth is one comparable villain (i guess technically he is a faux villain but you get the point).

The only bad thing about these people being the most dopplegangerish people is that no one really wants to be compared to them. I recently met someone who resembled Slugworth , and in my best interest I didn't tell him "You know you look like Slugworth...Arthur Slugworth." It doesn't seem to be a good icebreaker.

So, next time you are doing some face comparison watch out for the Charlie Buckets and Slugworths. They're EVERYWHERE.

Manbabies

This, my friends, is one of the worst and most frightening ideas ever.

Have you ever seen a baby that has a mannish face? It's creepy right? You wonder, why does that child have a pointy nose already? Is that a wrinkle? hmmm....

Well, there is a whole website devoted to manbabies! But it isn't a real manbaby on the street it is worse. Someone alters these photos to make the man the baby and the baby the man. UNHUMAN! manbabies.com does not have my approval.

Happy Monday

Now if only they could come up with something to fix manbabys! (a fear of mine)

Happy Monday Video

Mondays get a bad rep. No one really looks forward to them. No one tweets "TGIM". I mean, Mondays didn't do anything to us, so why do we all hate them so much?
I have decided to put my tiredness and reminiscents of the weekend aside and start enjoying my Mondays! (Better said than done.) But,in attempting this task, I am going to post a Happy Monday Video every week to help boost Monday Moral. It will at least make me happy, and if you struggle with loving your Mondays, hopefully it will help you too.

I'm so glad SNL decided to spoof Faith Hill's Theme song. Why does NFL have a theme song anyway? It doesn't make much sense, but I guess I can be grateful for it because it did give me this entertainment.

Pure Joy.

Another video for this Happy Monday!(Maybe we need two to start out...) The Biebs is so with the times! Watch out Obama! And Jimmy Fallon's got some moves...watch out Biebs...

These two videos made my Monday better. I hope yours too. Happy Monday!

G-Parentals

This week I had an eye infection. GROSS! It was no fun, but some good came out of the situation.

I drove into work Tuesday with vision so bad that I was a road hazard. Almost immeadiatly as I got to work I was sent home. (I work with a bunch of doctors and they weren't about to have my diseased eye up in the office) I couldn't make it all the way home so I stopped at my Grandparents on the way.
How great it is to know that at 22 years old, my grandparents still take care of me. My grandma drove me to the doctor, waited while I had my eye appointment and even bought me lunch.

My Grandma Parsley watches my 2 year old cousin everyday and Emma is really into looking at family photo albums. After Emma was done looking at the books (which was quickly, seeing as how she is a 2 year old) Grandma and I spent over an hour looking at pictures telling stories and remembering family times. I was reminded of just how kind and caring she is. She sacrificed a lot for her family. And she still does every day. From babysitting the kids, to cooking dinners, to taking care of her vision impaired grandaughter. She has a giving spirit and a tender heart that I hope I can show with my family.

Well, my eye got better thanks to Dr. April and I am back in the vision world. But, maybe I had to lose my real vision for a bit to be reminded of the giving spirit I need to have.

Bloggy Blog

Well, this is my new blog. Since I am no longer in the city, my NYC blog is a little outdated, but I want to keep everyone informed of what is going on in my life. This blog mainly addresses my day to day thoughts. So...Enjoy.

Current job: Hospital receptionist/stylista at The Loft

Currently living: At home with the fam

Currently feeling: Angry at OchoCinco for getting only 10 percent of the amount of points T.O has while T.O is sitting on my bench. Fantasy Football is frustrating!

Currently Wondering: Why does Sephora have zit cream testers out?? I mean really, who is going to put zit cream on in a mall? Weird. Maybe take home samples would be beneficial? Just a thought.
